The Bike
My most important travel companion should have its own introduction. Ladies and Gentleman, meet Emma, the iron lady that is carrying me to the end of all roads!
As a Classic 500 from 2019 she is one of the last ever produced 500cc Classic bikes of the Indian motorbike company. She is the perfect symbiosis of 122 years of Motorbike manufacturing.

A bike with a story
The first Royal Enfield motorcycle was built in 1901. The Enfield Cycle Company is responsible for the design and original production of the Royal Enfield Bullet, the longest-lived motorcycle design in history.
02
Protection
To protect the engine on the rougher roads, or even off roads, I have added a sump guard and crash bars. A sump guard mainly protects the engine from e.g. stones etc from below. Crash bars help to prevent damages to the engine when the bike falls on the side.
03
Saddle
The saddle is a true masterpiece of handcraft and was used for the US version of the Enfields. The saddle that is sold as "Chief Saddle", still carries that heritage in the name.
04
Luggage Carrier
The luggage carrier is hand crafted by using the pillions seat under construction and an aftermarket luggage carrier. We had been able to create a strong carrier that can easily handle 80kgs or more. Thank you to Dru's Customs Malta!

Luggage
I am using the Monsoon 3 Pannier and Tornado Duffle bag from Enduristan and must say I couldnt be any happier. It was a bigger investment but considering that the bike will be home for two years, I wanted it to be strong and lasting material.

Why "Emma"
When I was a little boy stories of travellers and their adventures fascinated me. One that got in particular stuck in my head are the adventures of Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver. They explored the world with their steam locomotive, a machine that was home on an island and it was said by many that is was not supposed to travel the world. But it did and that reminded me in many ways to us leaving Malta and exploring the world. :-)
